No. 10 Golden Knights Shut Out No. 14 St. Cloud State Women’s Hockey in D1 in DC Finale

Huskies fall to Clarkson 2-0, shut out for first time since January
WASHINGTON, D.C. – No. 14 St. Cloud State Women's Hockey (6-11-1, 2-9-1 Western Collegiate Hockey Association) was shut out by No. 10 Clarkson, 2-0, to close out play in the D1 in DC on Saturday afternoon at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex in the nation's capital.
After 38 minutes of scoreless action, Clarkson (9-6-1, 5-2-1 ECAC) broke the 0-0 deadlock with its first goal of the weekend. The Golden Knights added their second goal of the day, a power play tally, 43 seconds into the third period to bring the game to its final score, 2-0.
The Huskies could not convert on any of the six power play opportunities they were awarded, nor during the final 2:30 of game play when they played with an extra attacker after pulling their goaltender.

TOP HUSKIES
- Sophomore goaltender Emilia Kyrkkö (Nokia, Finland) saved 26 of the 28 shots she faced (.933 save percentage), only allowing one even strength goal.
- Sophomore forward Sofianna Sundelin (Ulvila, Finland) won eight of the 14 draws she took (57.1%).
- Senior forward Avery Farrell (Rogers, Minn.) blocked a team high two shots.
- SCSU moved to 0-1-0 all-time against Clarkson, as the teams met each other for the first time.
- The Huskies moved to 1-1-0 in neutral site games this season and 3-10-1 in games against teams ranked/receiving votes in either the U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Poll or the USA Hockey Poll.
- SCSU was shut out for the first time since January 11, 2025.
- The Huskies went 1-for-4 on the penalty kill and 0-for-6 on the power play. For the season, SCSU is 46-for-62 (74.2%) on the penalty kill and 7-for-51 on the power play (13.7%).
- Clarkson outshot the Huskies 30-29, outblocked SCSU 16-5 and won 51.9% of the faceoffs.
- Kyrkkö's 28 saves were the fifth most in a game this season.
- Sundelin and fellow junior forward Alice Sauriol (Sherbrooke, Quebec) each skated in their 90th career game.
- Graduate defender Grace Wolfe (Owatonna, Minn.) skated in her 135th career game.
- Sophomore defender Siiri Yrjölä (Vantaa, Finland) skated in her 50th career game.
