
SCSU Swim & Dive Set to Dual St. Thomas on Saturday

Huskies and Tommies will compete in a dual meet at Anderson Pool
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Swim & Dive will make the trek down I-94 to face St. Thomas in a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 8 in St. Paul. Competition from Anderson Pool is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. CT. A live stream of the meet will be available on MidCo Sports + for a fee.
LAST TIME OUT
In the Huskies last time out, SCSU was the top finishing Division-II team at the Coyote Extravaganza which featured three Division-I teams. The men's team finished third with 1,910.5 points while the women's team finished fourth with 1,371.5 points.
The men had an impressive showing at the meet with event wins in five individual events and three relays. Junior Jimmy Nord (Chisago City, Minn.) won the 1-meter dive with a NCAA qualifying score of 293.15 for six dives. Junior Reid Tigges (Spencer, Iowa) earned individual event wins in the 50-yard freestyle (20.56) and 100-yard freestyle (45.89) in addition to swimming legs on the 200- and 400-yard freestyle teams that finished first at 1:22.19 and 3:04.13, respectively.
The women's team had four top-three finishes in individual events and one in a relay. Sophomore Hallie Drossel (Melrose, Minn.) and senior Izzy Koebele (Bismarck, N.D.) earned runner-up finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke and 1000-yard freestyle at 1:05.58 and 10:51.78, respectively. The Huskies' 200-yard medley relay also finished second at 1:48.59.
