Ach Named Mentorship Coach for 2026 AHL All-Star Classic

AHL All-Star Classic slated for February 10-11 at the BMO Center in Rockford, Illinois
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey assistant coach Emily Ach has been named a Mentorship Coach for the 2026 American Hockey League (AHL) All-Star Classic presented by BMO, as announced by the organization on Friday. Ach will be behind the bench when the best players in the AHL convene at the BMO Center in Rockford, Ill. Feb. 10-11. for the AHL All-Star Skills Competition and the AHL All-Star Challenge.
Ach is one of four NHL Coaches' Association (NHLCA) program members and one of two NHLCA Female Coaches Program members who have been invited to participate in the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic as mentorship coaches.
In 2023, the AHL launched an initiative to provide professionals from diverse backgrounds with an opportunity to work with, and be mentored by, various staffs in the locker rooms and on the benches at the AHL All-Star Classic. The mentorship coaches will shadow All-Star coaches Ryan Mougenel, Pascal Vincent, Dan Watson and Mark Letestu throughout the event.
In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League serves as the top development league for the players, coaches, managers, executives, broadcasters and staff of all 32 National Hockey League teams. Nearly 90 percent of today's NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and more than 100 honored members of the Hockey Hall of Fame spent time in the AHL in their careers.
Ach is in her second season on the bench for St. Cloud State this season. She returned to SCSU in 2024-25 after spending the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach at Mercyhurst (Pa.). Prior to Mercyhurst, she spent two seasons as the SCSU Women's Hockey Operations and Video Coordinator Graduate Assistant after an extremely successful playing career at Augsburg University. As a player, Ach earned All-MIAC honors her senior season and spent two years with PWHPA Minnesota post-graduation.
A native of Brooklyn Park, Ach graduated from Park Center High School in 2016 where she participated in hockey, softball and cross-country. At Park Center, she was named the female athlete of the year and received all-conference honors her junior and senior seasons on the ice. Ach began playing hockey at the age of 5 for the North Metro Youth Hockey Association.
Ach earned her Master's Degree from St. Cloud State in Sports Management and her Bachelor's Degree from Augsburg in Elementary and Mathematics Education.
