Smolinski nets fifth goal of the season, Huskies honor nine seniors for Senior Night
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (13-15-0, 6-12-0 NCHC) fell to Miami (16-8-2, 7-7-2), 3-1, on Saturday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. Following the game, the Huskies honored its nine seniors for a Senior Night ceremony.
SCSU outshot Miami 37-27 in the game but couldn't beat the RedHawk goaltender until the 11:41 mark of the third period when senior defenseman Max Smolinski found the back of the net on a one-time slap shot from the left dot to cut Miami's lead from 3-0 to 3-1. The Huskies had two scoring chances go to review in the game's final minutes, but neither chance was called a good goal, leaving the score at 3-1.

- The SCSU penalty kill unit killed both penalties in the game to improve to 75.3 percent (61-of-81) on the season.
- Smolinski netted his fifth goal of the season to tie a career-high for goals in a season with his mark from last season at RPI. His 17 points on the season are a new career-high.
- Burnevik recorded his 15th assist, matching his mark from his freshman campaign while reaching the 30-point mark for the first time in his career.
- Loftus' assist gives him 10 on the season.
- Shostak made 24 saves, marking the 12th time in 15 games he's made at least 20 saves in a game.
- Junior forward Tyson Gross went 15-17 in the faceoff dot, marking the 26th time in 28 games this season he's won 10 or more faceoffs in a game and the 14th time he's won 15+.
