St. Cloud State welcomes 22 new athletes to the program
St. Cloud, MN - St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to welcome an outstanding group of student-athletes to the Huskie family. This recruiting class brings a tremendous combination of championship experience, national-level success, proven leadership, and relentless work ethic. From state champions and All-Americans to accomplished collegiate transfers, each athlete embodies the values and competitive spirit that define St. Cloud State Wrestling. We are thrilled to add this talented group to our program and look forward to watching them grow on and off the mat while continuing the proud tradition of Huskie Wrestling. Together, they represent a bright future for St. Cloud State and an exciting next chapter for our program.
Aidan Gruenenfelder (125 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to welcome Aidan Gruenenfelder to the Huskie family. A transfer from Loras College, Aidan brings proven collegiate success and national-level experience to our lineup. A 2026 NCAA Division III National Qualifier at 125 pounds, he has consistently performed at a high level throughout his career, earning All-Conference honors and compiling an impressive 202-9 high school record. His toughness, experience, and championship mindset will make an immediate impact on our program.
Aidan Hernandez (133/141 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is proud to add Aidan Hernandez to the 2026 recruiting class. Hailing from Sierra Vista, Nevada, Hernandez has built a reputation as one of the top competitors in his class, improving every year throughout his high school career. After placing second as a sophomore, winning a state title as a junior, and finishing runner-up as a senior, Aidan has demonstrated the consistency, determination, and work ethic that align perfectly with the tradition of Huskie Wrestling.
Alois Schumpf (133 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to welcome Alois Schumpf from Bay Port High School in Wisconsin. Alois has shown tremendous growth and perseverance throughout his career, climbing from fourth place finishes as both a freshman and sophomore to a fifth-place finish as a junior before capturing a state championship as a senior. With a remarkable high school record of 176-23, he brings a relentless competitive spirit and winning mentality that will be a valuable addition to our program.
Carter Nekvapil (174/184 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is thrilled to announce the commitment of Carter Nekvapil from Allen, Texas. One of the nation's premier Greco-Roman wrestlers, Carter is a four-time Texas State Qualifier and a 2024 Fargo All-American in Greco-Roman competition. His ability to compete at a high level against elite competition, combined with his dedication to the sport, makes him an outstanding addition to the Huskie Wrestling family. We look forward to seeing Carter continue his development at St. Cloud State.
Carson Martinson (174 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to welcome Carson Martinson to the program. A transfer with experience from both Central College and the University of Iowa, Carson most recently competed for Wartburg College and qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships at 165 pounds. Originally from Southeast Polk High School in Iowa, he enjoyed a successful prep career and has continued to develop at the collegiate level. Carson's experience, toughness, and competitive drive will make him a strong asset to our team.
Cooper Martinson (285 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to welcome Carson Martinson to the Huskie family. A standout from Southeast Polk High School in Iowa, Carson built an impressive resume that includes three Iowa State Tournament appearances and a Fargo All-American finish. His experience competing at one of the nation's premier wrestling programs, combined with his physicality and competitive mindset, makes him an excellent addition to our heavyweight room. We look forward to Carson continuing his development and contributing to the tradition of excellence at St. Cloud State.
Darrell Napupuy (141/149 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is proud to announce the addition of Darrell Nanpuya. A transfer from Cal Poly Humboldt, Darrell was a four-time Washington State Placer and 3x Washington State Champion who consistently competed among the best wrestlers in the state. His toughness, determination, and ability to perform at a high level make him a great fit for the Huskie program. We are excited to see Darrell continue his collegiate career in St. Cloud.
Ethan Immel (141/149 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is thrilled to welcome Ethan Immel to the program. Coming from Kewaskum High School in Wisconsin, Ethan was a four-time state qualifier who steadily climbed the podium throughout his career (4, 3, 1, 1), culminating in a Wisconsin State Championship as a senior. With 178 career victories and a reputation for relentless work ethic, Ethan brings championship experience and tremendous upside to the Huskies.
Gavin Turk (174 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to add Gavin Turk to its recruiting class. A transfer from Minot State, Gavin brings valuable collegiate experience along with an outstanding high school career at Paw Paw High School in Michigan. A Michigan State Qualifier and state placer, Gavin has consistently demonstrated the toughness and resilience needed to compete at a high level. His experience and competitive drive will be a tremendous asset to the Huskie lineup.
Hudson Scranton (157/165 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is proud to welcome Hudson Scranton from Anamosa, Iowa. A four-time Iowa State Tournament qualifier and three-time state placer (3, 4, 4), Hudson has been one of the state's most accomplished wrestlers throughout his career. His consistency, dedication, and proven ability to compete on the biggest stage embody the values of Huskie Wrestling. We are excited to watch Hudson continue his success at the collegiate level.
Ira Jenkins (285 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to announce the commitment of Ira Jenkins. A transfer from Southeast Community College with previous experience at the University of Michigan, Ira arrives in St. Cloud as a 2026 NJCAA National Runner-Up. A four-time Michigan State Placer (2x State Champion) and nationally ranked heavyweight during his prep career (No. 14 by Matscouts), Ira brings elite-level experience, size, and competitiveness to the Huskies. His accomplishments and leadership will have an immediate impact on our program.
Jase Jaspers (149/157 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is thrilled to welcome Jase Jaspers to the Huskie family. A standout from Mount Vernon High School in Iowa, Jase was a three-time Iowa State Placer (2, 2, 1) and one of the top competitors in the state throughout his career. With a 125-8 career pre-record (did not compete as a Senior) and a proven track record of success against top competition, Jase brings a strong foundation and bright future to St. Cloud State Wrestling.
Luke Hoag (174 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to welcome Luke Hoag to the Huskie family. A transfer from North Dakota State University and a standout from Hutchinson, Minnesota, Luke brings an impressive combination of national-level experience and proven success. A three-time Fargo All-American and 2025 Minnesota Class AA State Runner-Up, he has consistently competed among the nation's best wrestlers. Luke's work ethic, toughness, and championship pedigree make him a tremendous addition to the Huskie program.
Navarro Nanpuya (184 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is proud to announce the commitment of Navarro Nanpuya. A transfer from Georgetown College by way of North Idaho Community College, Navarro arrives in St. Cloud as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in the country. The 2026 NAIA National Champion and Most Outstanding Wrestler, as well as the 2026 NAIA Men's Wrestler of the Year, has proven himself on every stage throughout his career. A two-time NJCAA All-American, Navarro brings elite experience, leadership, and a championship mindset that will elevate the Huskie lineup.
Ryder Kruse (174 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is thrilled to welcome Ryder Kruse from Lincoln East High School in Nebraska. Ryder has steadily developed into one of Nebraska's top competitors, qualifying for the state tournament three times and finishing as a state runner-up as a junior before capturing a state championship as a senior. His commitment to improvement and ability to perform in the biggest moments make him an outstanding fit for the tradition of excellence at St. Cloud State.
Sam Zanton (165 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to add Sam Zanton to the 2026 recruiting class. A standout from Middleton, Wisconsin, Sam built one of the most impressive resumes in the state during his high school career. A three-time Wisconsin State Placer, he climbed the podium each season, culminating in a runner-up finish as a senior. With a remarkable career record of 159-15, Sam brings consistency, determination, and a proven ability to compete at a high level.
Sawyer Dailey (184/197 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is proud to welcome Sawyer Dailey to the Huskie family. A product of Plymouth High School in Wisconsin, Sawyer leaves as the winningest wrestler in school history after compiling an outstanding 159-21 career record. A three-time Wisconsin State Qualifier and 2026 state finalist, he consistently proved himself among the best wrestlers in the state. Sawyer's competitive spirit, leadership, and winning habits will make him a valuable addition to the St. Cloud State program.
Shaymus Macintosh (165 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to announce the addition of Shaymus Macintosh. A transfer from Clackamas Community College with previous experience at Morgan State, Shaymus brings a wealth of collegiate and national-level accomplishments to the Huskies. A National Prep All-American and three-time New England State Finalist while competing for Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts, he has demonstrated success against elite competition throughout his career. His experience, versatility, and dedication to excellence will strengthen the St. Cloud State lineup.
Nathan Johnson (149 lbs.)
St. Cloud State Wrestling is excited to announce the addition of Nathan Johnson. Nathan Johnson of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, will join the St. Cloud State wrestling program as a freshman this fall. A two-time Wisconsin state placer finishing 5th as a Junior and then 4th as a Senior. Johnson finished his high school career with an impressive 141-47 record.
Richard "Remy" Murillo (133/141 lbs.)
Richard Murillo joins St. Cloud State as a junior transfer from California Baptist University. The Moreno Valley, California, native competed at 133 pounds for the Lancers, where he gained valuable experience against some of the nation's top competition. In 2025-26, Murillo competed in 19 matches, earned nine dual wins, was ranked as high as No. 28 nationally, and started for CBU at the Big 12 Championships. He also placed fifth at the Cyclone Invitational and recorded a ranked win over Drexel's Kyle Waterman. Murillo brings experience, toughness, and high-level competition experience to the Huskies lineup.
Hans Newby (125 lbs.)
St. Cloud State welcomes Hans Newby to the wrestling program as an incoming sophomore from Grace, Idaho. Newby enters the Huskies with an impressive high school résumé, highlighted by four Idaho 2A state championships at 113 pounds and a perfect 41-0 senior season. He finished his prep career as a four-time state placer and state champion, becoming just the eighth Class 2A wrestler in Idaho history to win four consecutive state titles.
Dylan Scott (184 lbs.)
Dylan Scott joins the Huskies as an incoming junior from Waterford, Michigan. A 2024 MHSAA Division 1 State Champion at 175 pounds, Scott capped his high school career with an impressive 38-2 record at Waterford Kettering. A proven competitor with championship experience, Scott brings a strong wrestling background and valuable collegiate experience to the St. Cloud State lineup.
