Jimmies goal in the 86th minute downs Huskies

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (2-3-2, 1-2-1 NSIC) allowed a goal in the 86^th minute to Jamestown (2-4-1, 2-2-0 NSIC), ultimately falling 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Jamestown, N.D. Senior forward Linsey Trapino (Verona, Wis.) scored the Huskies' lone goal in the matchup.

TURNING POINT

Trapino found the back of the net in the 14^th minute to open the game's scoring, but the Jimmies responded quickly, scoring less than 90 seconds to even the score at 1-1. The game was evenly played for a large majority of the rest of the game, holding even until the 86^th minute. With time running out, UJ's Bre Oettle was able to sneak a pass up the field and past the Huskies' defenders to Vega Canada, who touched the pass up and over the SCSU goalkeeper to take the lead with just over four minutes remaining.

Trapino scored her third goal of the season in the first half.
Junior forward Emma Gott (Ankeny, Iowa) recorded her second assist of the season.

NOTES

SCSU moves to 2-1-0 all-time against Jamestown.
The Huskies held the advantage in nearly every offensive category, including corner kicks (7-4), shots (23-7) and shots on goal (9-4).
With her third goal of the season, Trapino continues her ascension in the SCSU record book, moving into a tie for third all-time in career scoring with 59 points and sole possession of fourth in career goals with her 23^rd score.
Three Huskies, junior defender Izzy Halunen (Woodbury, Minn.), freshman defender Kelly Sprague (Edina, Minn.) and senior goalkeeper Jaylee Strickland (Columbus, Ohio), played a full 90 minutes in the game.

SCSU will return home for its next two games, playing Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Sept. 25 and Sioux Falls on Sunday, Sept. 27.
