St. Cloud State University Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of FameÂ
The St. Cloud State University Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes exceptional contributions to St. Cloud State University intercollegiate athletics by letterwinners, coaches and individuals. The St. Cloud State University Athletics Hall of Fame Committee is not currently accepting nominations. Nominations for the Class of 2027 will open in January 2027.Â
The criterion for eligibility to be nominated for induction into the St. Cloud State Athletics Hall of Fame is as follows:
INDIVIDUAL STUDENT-ATHLETES Â
- Academic Standing:
- A former student-athlete shall have been in good academic standing during his/her enrollment at the University.Â
- Eligibility Waiting Period:
- A former student-athlete shall be first eligible for nomination ten full academic years after completing his/her athletic eligibility at the University. If a student-athlete has left the University prior to completion of their eligibility, the ten-year waiting period will have begun the year in which they left St. Cloud State University.Â
- Accomplishments:
- Individuals shall be eligible for nomination if, while enrolled at St. Cloud State they have:Â
- Been named "All-American," orÂ
- Won an NCAA National Championship, orÂ
- Named Athlete of the Year, orÂ
- Received Conference Honors, orÂ
- Led the nation in a recognized statistical category, orÂ
- As a student-athlete, distinguished him/herself and the University through major victories, statistical achievements, records, or other substantial accomplishments not listed above.Â
- Individuals shall be eligible for nomination if, while enrolled at St. Cloud State they have:Â
- Individual Student-Athletes: Post Eligibility Accomplishments:
- A former student-athlete must continue to demonstrate in their lives the values imparted by intercollegiate athletics.  Â
- CareerÂ
- Community involvementÂ
- Continuation of sport(s)Â
- Connection to University Â
- A former student-athlete must continue to demonstrate in their lives the values imparted by intercollegiate athletics.  Â
INDIVIDUAL COACHES & ADMINISTRATORS
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Considerations for selection are recognition as an authority/leader in the sport area involved, length and quality of the coaching record, program growth, and individual achievements after leaving active coaching service at SCSU.
- Eligibility Waiting Period:
- A minimum of five years must elapse after active coaching service at St. Cloud State to be eligible.Â
ATHLETIC TEAMS
- Eligibility Criteria:
- A varsity-level team that wins a NCAA Championship, or competed in an NCAA sponsored championship event shall be eligible for nomination into the St. Cloud State Athletic Hall of Fame.Â
- Eligibility Waiting Period:
- A team shall be eligible for nomination ten full seasons following the completion of the season that they have been nominated for.Â
INDUCTION OF OTHERS
- Eligibility Criteria:
- The SCSU Distinguished Service to Athletics Award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on Huskies Athletics, but do not meet criteria outlined as a former student-athlete, team or coach. Examples of potential nominees include, but are not limited to: faculty advocate, financial supporter of the athletics program, athletics support staff or administrator, volunteer coach, or team physician. Â
NOMINATION STATUS
- Nomination Expiration:
- A nomination form will remain on file for five (5) Hall of Fame cycles. If a nomination has not been selected at the end of the fifth cycle, then the nomination will no longer be considered valid once that class has been publicized. After a nomination becomes invalid, there is no waiting period for an individual to be re-nominated and considered for the Hall of Fame.
