Scored her first goal of the season to win the game against Lindenwood University on Nov. 9 ... Had a season high two goals against Lindenwood University on Nov. 10 ... 2011-12: Played in all 36 games for the Huskies in her sophomore season ... Recorded two goals with seven assists and 80 shots on the season ... -27 plus/minus ... 14/28 PIM ... Earned six blocks ... Scored the game winning goal for the Huskies at Minnesota State on Jan. 13 ... Recorded a power-play goal against Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 3 ... WCHA Scholar-Athlete award recipient ... 2010-11: Voted her team’s Rookie of the Year after leading the squad with 11 points (6g, 5a) in 35 games played … Her six goals led the team as well ... First career goal/point came at Ohio State on Oct. 15 … Dished out first career assist at Bemidji State on Oct. 29 … 8/16 PIM.
Before SCSU: Coached by Glen Gilderman, Gilbert lettered five times for the Proctor/Hermantown/Marshall Mirage in hockey. The 5’11” forward was a 2010 Ms. Hockey Semifinalist and gained All-Lake Superior Conference nods, All-Area and All-State honors during her tenure at HHS. In five seasons, Gilbert tallied 270 points (134g, 136a) and leaves HHS holding career records for most points, goals and assists. She also holds the school record for most points and assists in a single game. Gilbert lettered five times in softball for the Hawks and garnered All-Conference, All-Area and All-State recognition for her efforts. She also helped lead the Hermantown Hawks to the 2009 Class AA State Championship. In soccer, Gilbert charted All-Area and All-Conference honors after lettering twice. An honor roll student, Gilbert will graduate with honors from Hermantown High.
Personal: The daughter of Jeffrey and Trudy Gilbert, Julia is majoring in biomedical science with a minor in psychology at St. Cloud State. Gilbert lists her parents as the greatest influences on her career. Julia is also on the Dean's List as St. Cloud State.
