2017 TEAM CAPTAIN
2016: Benhart was named to the 2016 NSIC Fall All-Academic Team… played in all 19 games for the Huskies in her junior season …scored one goal in 2-0 victory at Minnesota Crookston on Oct. 30...also had one assist in 3-1 victory at MSU Moorhead...charted 17 shots and seven SOGs in 2016...will serve as a team captain in 2017.
2015: Benhart was named to the 2015 NSIC Fall All-Academic Team… Started in all 18 games for the Huskies in her sophomore season … scored one goal and one assist as a center midfielder… her first collegiate goal came in a close game against #6 Mankato State in a tough 2-3 loss on Oct. 25, 2015 … 24 shots on the season and 11 shots on goal with an average of 1.33 shots per game.Â
2014:Â Played in 18 games for the Huskies during her freshman season...posted 16 shots in 2014 and six shots on goal.
Before SCSU:Â A 2014 Crystal Lake Central High School graduate...was a varsity soccer athlete all four years of high school and played for coach Jay Shwarzrock...during her junior and senior years she led her team in assists...a three-timne All-Conference selection in high school...Benhart is a two-time team captain at Crystal Lake Central as well...a four-year member of the Arsenal Heat United Club Soccer team and assisted her team in becoming the 2013 and 2012 MRL Regional Champions and division champs in 2013...also a member of the Crystal Lake Force U23 team.
Personal: Benhart is the daughter of Steve and Krista Benhart...a Fox Valley athletic academic achivement award winner, Benhart graduate in top 11 percent of her class and was on high honor roll for four years of high school...an English major and a community development and planning minor at SCSU...enjoys camping, hiking, reading and a dog enthusiast...works with her twin brother Scott as a camp counselor during the summer.
