A native of Anoka, Bakke returned to the SCSU bench as an assistant coach in 2012. She served as a graduate assistant at SCSU in 2008 and 2009 under coach Paula U'Ren.Â
Bakke was a All-Conference, All-Region and All-State softball player as a high school athlete at Anoka H.S. and she also earned All-Conference and All-Region notice as a prep tennis player.Â
Bakke went on to play collegiate softball at North Dakota State, where she was named the North Central Conference Rookie of the Year in 2001. She went on to earn All-America honors at NDSU in 2003 and 2004. She completed her career as a Bison with 36 homers, 181 RBIs, 250 hits and a .408 batting average. She set many records during his collegiate career at NDSU and was named to the 2004 Academic All-District team. At NDSU, Bakke helped lead her squad to an 8th place finish at the 2002 NCAA Division II finals and a third place ending in 2003. She is a 2004 graduate of North Dakota State.
