Megan Van Beusekom-Sweerin

2022-23 marks Megan Van Beusekom-Sweerin’s first season with Huskies Women’s Hockey as the volunteer goalie coach. A legendary First Team All-Ivy goaltender at Princeton from 2000-04, Van Beusekom-Sweerin graduated as the program’s all-time leader in wins and save percentage while finishing second in goals against average and career saves.
Well-decorated on the international level, Van Beusekom-Sweerin earned Gold twice with Team USA at the IIHF Women’s World Championships in 2005 and 2009. Owning a career .926 save percentage at the World Championships, she recorded a shutout at the 2009 tournament. She also was a member of the Four Nations Team in 2007.
Van Beusekom-Sweerin spent 12 seasons playing professionally with the Minnesota Whitecaps before retiring in 2016. She guided the Whitecaps to the Clarkson Cup Championship in 2010.
Born in Loretto, Minnesota, Van Beusekom-Sweerin prepped at Benilde-St. Margaret’s. She has also spent time as a volunteer assistant at the University of Minnesota.
Megan and her husband have four children and own a small cattle farm.
