2012-13: McPhail went 9-5 during the 2012-13 season...earned NWCA All-Academic honors and All-NSIC Academic honors.
2011-12: Posted a 11-12 overall record at 174 pounds during his redshirt freshman campaign…recorded the first pin of his collegiate career…tied for a first place finish Worthington Open (1/21/12)…NCAA Division II All-Academic Second Team member.
2010-11: McPhail earned the SCSU Redshirt Wrestler of the Year award in 2010-11...impressive 25-15 record in 2010-11...seven falls.. placed third at RCTC Open...third at Auggie Open and second at RCC Open...also placed fifth at GVO and North Country Opens.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Pine Island H.S., where he wrestled for coach Tony Brown...six-time letterwinner at Pine Island in wrestling...two-time state runner-up...three-time All-State award winner...172 career wins at Pine Island...earned two letters in football and three in track and field.
PERSONAL: Son of Don and Ruth McPhail of Pine Island..Community Psychology major and English studies minor at SCSU...enjoys reading, running and weightlifting...lived on an isolated island in Alaska during the summer of 2014 and worked as a commercial salmon fisherman.
