2011-12: Went a solid 17-7 overall during his sophomore campaign at 197 pounds…went 3-1 in dual meet action…recorded two falls…took home 1st place in the Ridgewater Open…named to the 2012 D-II All-Academic First Team…All-NSIC Academic Team member.
2010-11: Brassell posted a 12-5 overall record in 2010-11, which included five falls...placed 3rd at 2010 Auggie Open and 5th at 2010 Husky Open for SCSU...2011 NWCA All-Academic award winner.
2009-10: As a redshirt for the Huskies, Brassell posted a 19-12 record in 2009-10...placed 5th at Bison Open, 3rd at Cobber Open, 4th at Husky Open, 2nd at Ridgewater CC Open, 4th at Worthington Open and 5th at North Country Open in 2009-10.
HIGH SCHOOL: Brassell comes to SCSU from Maine South High School…he was a three-time All-Conference selection…he placed third in the IHSA state tournament his senior year…he is a past Cadet Greco Roman All-American…compiled a career mark of 122-30.
PERSONAL: Brassell is the son of John and Rebecca Brassell…he enjoys playing sports and video games…he is an Communication, Arts and Literature major at SCSU.
