John Peterson joined the staff of the wrestling team as the Huskies' Broadcast and Social Media Coordinator in 2012-13. Peterson is a 2011 magna cum laude graduate of Bemidji State University with a degree in mass communication. He recently obtained a masters degree in strategic media communications from St. Cloud State in the spring of 2014.

At Bemidji State, Peterson worked with the Beavers' sports information department and also did public address work at Bemidji State. As a college student, Peterson did radio play-by-play on broadcasts of Bemidji High School wrestling and Northome-Kelliher football.

After graduation from Bemidji State, Peterson worked as a news/sports reporter and play-by-play announcer for Delahunt Broadcasting out of Park Rapids, Minn. A resident of Fertile, Minn., Peterson is a 2007 graduate of Fertile-Beltrami H.S.

At SCSU, Peterson has also served as a public address announcer for Husky athletics since 2012-13. He is also well known for his outstanding performances of the national anthem before SCSU sporting events.
