In his sophomore campaign, Hendriks has picked up right where he left off in his stellar freshman season. In the month of November alone, Hendriks won 10 events in three meets, including the NCAA-leading time in the 200-yard backstroke.
At the Coyote Extravaganza (Nov. 5-6), Hendriks earned victories in the 100-yard backstroke (49.55), 200-yard freestyle (day 1 – 1:41.94 / day 2 – 1:42.83) and 200-yard butterfly (1:54.33). He also swam legs on the relay teams that won in the 200-yard freestyle (1:24.33) and 200-yard medley (1:32.82). Next, at the JoAnn Andregg Invite (Nov. 12-13), Hendriks won the 200-yard backstroke with an NCAA-leading time of 1:46.71 and the 500-yard freestyle (4:35.27), winning by more than 12 seconds. For his performance in St. Paul, Hendriks was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Swimmer of the Week. Finally, in a dual against Eau Claire (Nov. 19), Hendriks won two events once again, coming in first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.53) and the 100-yard backstroke (49.38).
