BACK ON THE ROAD
The #18 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (4-2-0, 2-0-0 WCHA) will travel to #3 University of Denver (4-0-0, 2-0-0- WCHA) on Nov. 2-3. The games will be played in Denver, Colo. at DU's Magness Arena (6,026/200x85). The game on Nov. 2 will begin at 8:37 p.m. (CT) and the game on Nov. 3 will face off at 8:07 p.m. (CT).

HUSKIES BY THE NUMBERS:
27 The Huskies have outscored their opponents 27-14 in 2012-13. Over the last four games, the Huskies have outscored their opponents 22-5. SCSU currently ranks fifth in the country at 4.50 goals per game, while Denver ranks number one in the nation at 5.00 goals per game.
18 The Huskies were ranked 18th in this week's USCHO.com Division I men's hockey poll. This marked the first time in 2012-13 that the Huskies have earned a top 20 ranking in the national polls. SCSU also received votes in the USA TODAY/USA Hockey poll released this week. Denver is ranked #3 in both of the college hockey polls this week.
10 St. Cloud State senior Drew LeBlanc and junior Nic Dowd share the WCHA scoring lead (overall games played) with 10 points apiece after six games. LeBlanc has 3g/7a and Dowd has 4g/6a this winter for the Huskies. Dowd has charted a point in all six games he has played this winter for the Huskies. The Huskies have a total of four players ranked in the top 10 for WCHA scorers (overall games played) after six games. Freshman Kalle Kossila ranks fourth with 7 points and Nick Jensen ranks seventh with 6 points.
HUSKY NOTES AND NEWS:
LAST WEEK: SCSU gained its second consecutive sweep at the NHEC with a pair of 5-1 wins over Minnesota State on Oct. 26-27. This marked the first time since a six-game run from Dec. 29, 2010 to Jan. 22, 2011 that the Huskies have charted four consecutive victories. In action against MSU, Drew LeBlanc led the Huskies with two goals and three assists, while Nic Dowd and Kalle Kossila each had 2g/2a in the two game set. Ryan Faragher charted a total of 59 saves on the way to the victories.
AND THE AWARD GOES TO... SCSU senior Drew LeBlanc was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week and SCSU freshman Kalle Kossila was named the WCHA Rookie of the Week for their play against MSU on Oct. 26-27. The last time that LeBlanc earned WCHA weekly honors was against Colorado College in 2008-09. These are the first weekly WCHA award winners for the Huskies in 2012-13.

Dowd added a goal and an assist in both games against MSU and has now charted a point in every game for the Huskies this season. He leads the team this year with four goals.
FAB FROSH: Freshman forward Kalle Kossila, a native of Finland, continues to impress in the early portion of the 2012-13 season. Kossila padded his SCSU stats on Oct. 26-27 with a total of two goals and two assists vs. MSU. In four games played in 2012-13, Kossila already has three goals and four assists to lead the WCHA rookies (overall games played) with a total of seven point.
TOUGH TO BEAT: Ryan Faragher charted strong numbers in the Huskies' weekend sweep of MSU. Faragher opened with 24 saves in the 5-1 win on Oct. 26 and then completed the weekend with a 35 save effort in the Huskies' 5-1 win on Oct. 27. Faragher coined 18 saves in the third period alone during the win on Saturday at the NHEC. His work lowered his goals against average to 2.23 on the year and raised his save rate to .925. Faragher currently owns a three-game win streak and his season record now stands at 3-2-0.
HUSKY TIDBITS: Sophomore Jarrod Rabey scored his first point of the 2012-13 season with an assist on Cory Thorson's second period goal on Oct. 27. Rabey was a game-time replacement on the line chart for freshman David Morley, who was a late injury scratch in the game...SCSU has charted 22 goals in its last four games and the Huskies have outscored their opponents 22-5 in those games...Drew LeBlanc currently leads the WCHA (overall games played) with seven assists and junior defender Nick Jensen is tied for first among WCHA defenders with six points (6 assists). Jensen added three assists to his totals in the pair of games against MSU.
PIONEER POINTS: The Huskies will pack their bags for Denver on Nov. 2-3. The Pioneers own a 38-34-4 series lead against the Huskies, which dates back to an 8-4 victory for DU at SCSU on Nov. 29, 1988. SCSU scored a 3-2 OT and 5-1 sweep over Denver on Dec. 16-17, 2011 at the NHEC. The last time this series was played in Denver, the two teams split the decision. On March 4, 2011, SCSU gained a 3-2 win and on March 5, the Huskies lost 3-2 at Magness Arena. SCSU is 4-1-0 in the last five outings against Denver and the Huskies are 7-3-0 in the last 10 outings against Denver. Coach Bob Motzko is an even 9-9-0 during his career against DU.
