
Women's Golf Moves into 6th Place at the NSIC Championship

Brainerd, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University women's golf moved up one spot to sixth place after the second round of the 2012-13 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship (NSIC) played at The Classic at Madden's on Gull Lake Saturday and Sunday.

The Huskies improved their team score by eight shots and have a team total of 732 (370-362) midway through the championship. The NSIC Championship consists of a 36-hole event at The Classic and a 36-hole event April 20-21 at the Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, Minn.
St. Cloud State sophomore Katie Kruchten (St. Cloud) moved up six spots in the individual standings. She shot an 87 on Saturday and followed that with an 83 on Sunday and stands in sixth place with a score of 170.
First-year golfers Taylor Chase (Franklin, Wis.) is tied for 27th place after rounds of 93-91 for a 184. . First-year players Ashlee Lindeen (Elk River) and Brooke Taylor (Chandler, Ariz.) are tied for 39th place. Lindeen shot 97-96 for a 193 while Taylor carded 93-100 for 193. Junior Alex DeBoer (Spring Lake Park) improved her score b ten strokes as she shot a 102 on Saturday and a 92 Sunday and is in 42nd place.
Augustana College, the defending champion is the team leader. The Vikings posted 326 and 320 for a team score of 646. Allie Ostrander of Augustana College is the individual leader after carding a 75-80 for an 11 over par score of 155.
