Husky Basketball to Open Regular Season at St. John's Friday

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team's 2012-13 season will officially get underway on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. That's when the Huskies will tip-off against crosstown rival St. John's University at Sexton Arena in Collegeville.
Game Notes
St. Cloud State is coming off a 2011-12 season where the Huskies posted a 20-9 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament.
St. John's posted a 16-11 overall record under head coach Jim Smith who enters his 49th season with the Johnnies. Smith has amassed a 743-521 record at SJU.
Husky head coach Kevin Schlagel begins his 16th season with the Huskies and has compiled a 301-141 record in 15 years.

St. Cloud State will open at home on Dec. 1 against the University of Minnesota Duluth. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Halenbeck. It is Alumni Day and SCSU basketball alums have been invited to campus for the game.
