The #14/15 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (7-5-0, 5-3-0 WCHA) will travel north to Alaska on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 for a two-game series at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Listed below is a complete set of weekly team notes for the upcoming WCHA series.

HUSKIES ON CHARTER (St. Cloud) and COMCAST (Twin Cities) in 2012-13!
A total of 11 St. Cloud State University men's hockey games will now be available for live viewing on Comcast Cable channels 13 & 23 in the Twin Cities for the remainder of the 2012-13 campaign. All regular season SCSU home games will also be available for viewing on Charter Cable channel 87 in the St. Cloud area.
The live telecasts are provided by St. Cloud State's very own Husky Productions with play-by-play from Jim Rich and color commentary by former Husky All-American Mark Parrish. Check out the CHARTER/COMCAST SCHEDULE

14/15: The Huskies were ranked 14th in this week's USCHO.com Division I men's hockey poll and they were also ranked 15th in the USA TODAY/USA Hockey Magazine poll on Nov. 26. SCSU has been ranked among the top 20 for five consecutive weeks now. The previous week, SCSU was ranked #12 in the nation by the two college hockey polls.
LAST WEEK: The Huskies split a two-game set at Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 23-24. SCSU opened the weekend with a 2-1 loss at UMD, as the lone goal of the Huskies was marked by Kalle Kossila...on Nov. 24, the Huskies rebounded with a 5-1 victory at UMD. Nic Dowd carded two goals and the game winner for SCSU, while teammate Ben Hanowski scored 1g/2a. Ryan Faragher was the goalie of record in the game with 32 saves. The victory helped SCSU avoid the sweep, which is something that the Huskies have avoided since Oct. 12-13.
WCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK: SCSU sophomore netminder Ryan Faragher turned in two top efforts during the weekend trip to UMD. For his work, Faragher gained WCHA Player of the Week notice. In the Huskies' 2-1 loss on Nov. 23, Faragher allowed just one power play goal and made 27 saves. He finished the weekend by making 32 saves and giving up just one power play goal in the 5-1 win on Nov. 24. Faragher charted 59 saves in the two games and allowed only two goals. He lowered his goals against average to 2.14 and raised his save rate to .927 with his play this weekend. Faragher currently ranks 4th in the WCHA for goals against average and third for save percentage.
FRESH FACE: SCSU freshman forward Kalle Kossila charted two more goals in play against UMD on Nov. 23-24. Kossila now ranks fifth in the nation among DI rookies with 1.00 points per game. Kossila ranks second among WCHA freshman players with 10 points scored this winter.
GOOD TO HAVE HIM BACK: A series highlight was the return of senior forward Ben Hanowski to the lineup on Nov. 23. Hanowski had missed five games as an injury scratch. He finished the weekened on Nov. 24 with a goal and two assists in the Huskies' 5-1 win at UMD. On the season, Hanowski now has 4g/4a. Hanowski is now 10 points away from joining the Huskies' 100-point club. He has 49 goals and 41 assists n four seasons as a Husky.
DOWD I: Junior Nic Dowd carded two goals and one assist in the win at UMD on Nov. 24. The offensive outburst by Dowd pushed him into the team's scoring lead with eight goals and nine assists (17 points). He currently ranks sixth in the country with 17 points this season and sixth in the country with eight goals. Dowd also leads WCHA players (overall games played) in points and goals.
DOWD II: Nic Dowd posted his fourth game winning goal of the season on Nov. 24. Dowd leads the WCHA with GWGs and he is closing in the on the SCSU team record of five game winners scored in a season. Former Huskies who hit the five game winner standard were Ryan Lasch (2007-08 and 2008-09), Tyler Arnason (2000-01), Matt Cullen (1996-97), Fred Knipscheer (1992-93) and Andreas Nodl (2006-07).
FIRST SHORTY: Junior Cory Thorson scored his first collegiate shorthanded goal during the Huskies' 5-1 win over UMD on Nov. 24.
HUSKY TIDBITS: SCSU has outscored its opponents 42-28 this season. SCSU has also outshot its opponents 354-339 in 2012-13... Rookie blueliner Ethan Prow leads the Huskies on the plus/minus in 2012-13 at +9... Senior forward Drew LeBlanc added one point during his series at UMD on Nov. 23-24. He now ranks second on the team with five goals and 10 assists this year. He also had 112 career points (34g/78a) as a Husky, which places him 16th in the team records along with NHLer Matt Hendricks (2000-04)...LeBlanc has a total of nine points scored during his career against UAA. This total includes two goals and 7 assists in games against UAA during his career.
