TOP 20 SHOWDOWN: The #15 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (5-3-0, 3-1-0 WCHA) will host #6 University of North Dakota on Nov. 9-10 at the National Hockey and Event Center (5,371 cap./200x100) in St. Cloud. WATCH ON TV: The SCSU-UND games will be televised live on Charter Cable channel 87 in the St. Cloud area. The Husky Production telecasts will also be replayed on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7 p.m. after each home series on UTVS (Charter Cable channel 21 in the St. Cloud area). Twin Cities sports media personality Jim Rich and former NHL and Husky standout Mark Parrish will call the games this season for Husky Productions.
HUSKIES IN NEW ENGLAND: The SCSU-UND game on Nov. 10 is scheduled to be televised live on the New England Sports Network (NESN). This regional sports network is carried on cable systems throughout New England and is also available around the country on DirecTV (628) and Dish Network (434).

HUSKIES RANKED #15: 15 The Huskies were ranked 15th in this week's USCHO.com Division I men's hockey poll. This marked the 2nd consecutive week in 2012-13 that the Huskies have earned a top 20 ranking in the national polls. SCSU also received votes in the USA TODAY/USA Hockey poll released this week. UND is ranked #6 in both of the college hockey polls this week.
HUSKY HEADLINES
LAST WEEK: The Huskies split a weekend series at #3 Denver. On Nov. 2, SCSU posted a 3-0 at Magness and then lost a 6-1 match on Nov. 3 vs. DU. This marked SCSU's first shutout in Denver since a 6-0 victory by Scott Meyer on Dec. 3, 1999. Nic Dowd posted two goals in the victory for the Huskies, including his nation leading third GWG of the season. Rookie Kalle Kossila added the Huskies' other goal. Ryan Faragher had 28 saves as he chalked up his second shutout of the season...on Nov. 3, Cory Thorson prevented the shutout with his goal in the first period for SCSU. Of note, rookie goalie Rasmus Reijola saw his first ice time for SCSU in the relief of starter Ryan Faragher. Reijola had 16 saves in the game... FACT: SCSU has now played six consecutive series at Denver where the end result was a weekend split against the Pioneers.
FLYIN' RYAN: SCSU sophomore goalie Ryan Farahger gained his third career shutout on Nov. 2 at DU. This was Faragher's second shutout of the 2012-13 season. In his first start in WCHA play last year, Faragher rolled a 4-0 shutout in Grand Forks that featured 44 saves for the sophomore from Fort Frances, Ont...Faragher's goals against average this season stands at 2.23 and his save rate is .926.
SOUTHERN COOKIN': SCSU junior forward Nic Dowd contined his strong start with two goals against DU on Nov. 2. Dowd was held off the score sheet on Nov. 3, which ended his goal streak at five games and his scoring streak at seven games. Dowd leads the Huskies and ranks third in the nation with 12 points. He also leads the team and ranks third in the nation with six goals this season...Dowd leads the nation with three game winners in 2012-13, which includes the GWG against DU on Nov. 2.
ASSIST PLEASE: Drew LeBlanc ranks second on the team with 11 points (3g/8a) this season...LeBlanc and junior defender Nick Jensen both lead the Huskies this season with eight assists apiece. The pair also rank third in the nation with 8 assists this season...of note, Jensen ranks third among DI blueliners with eight points in 2012-13.
THE FINNISH LINE: SCSU rookie forward Kalle Kossila, who is one of two players from Finland on the Husky roster this winter, currently ranks first in the nation among DI freshman on offense. Kossila is averaging 1.33 points per game this season, which includes four goals and four assists in six games played. Kossila added one goal during the SCSU win on Nov. 2. He also ranks second on the team this season with a +8 on the plus/minus.
HUSKY TIDBITS: Rookie blueliner Ethan Prow, who hails from nearby Sauk Rapids, Minn., tops the Huskies this season on the plus/minus at +9. Prow now has 2g/4a this season for the Huskies...the Huskies have outscored their opponents 31-20 this season...SCSU has allowed only one power play goal in the last five games...the Huskies have outshot their opponents 235-227 during the 2012-13 season. In comparison, SCSU was outshot 1266-1032 during the 2011-12 season...Drew LeBlanc has moved ahead of Kelly Hultgren (107 points from 1991-95) in the Huskies' career scoring leaders list. LeBlanc now ranks 19th with 108 career points at SCSU. Ryan Lasch leads the Huskies' list with 183 career points from 2006-10. Lasch currently has 1g/1a in six games played with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL...SCSU and UND will complete their regular season series in 2012-13 with a set of games up in Grand Forks on Jan. 25-26, 2013.
SKATE WITH THE HUSKIES: The always popular Skate With The Huskies open skate event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m. on the main rink at the National Hockey and Event Center.
