SCSU Swimming and Diving Defeats UW-La Crosse

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University men's and women's swimming and diving squads hosted the University of Wisconsin-La Cross this afternoon. The St. Cloud State men defeated the Eagles 195-104, while the women were victorious 167-131.
The St. Cloud State men won 12 of their 16 total events this evening. The women won 11 of their 16 total events.
Head Coach Jeff Hegle recapped the day stating, "It was a great way for our seniors to go out today. I am very proud of my young men and women and everything they have accomplished over the past four years. It has been a privilege being their coach."
Stephanie Crandall finished tonight with three first place finishes. Crandall was a member of the 200 yard medley relay (alongside Abby Rasmussen, Erin Hart and Kelsey Leeson) that finished with a time of 1:49.53. Crandall also won the 100 yard butterfly in 59.05 and the 50 yard butterfly in 26.45.
Three St. Cloud State women finished with two first place finishes. These include: Erin Hart, Abby Rasmussen and Ali Domeier.
Five St. Cloud State men finished with two first place finishes. These include: Bob Simson, Jake Stoll, Napoleon Howell, Jake Hausauer and Alex Bryson.
Tori Raihle (Spring Lake Park) won the women's one-meter dive with a score of 249.7. Luke Weber (Mankato) took the three-meter title with a score of 366.55. Tyler Magalis (Farmington) won the one-meter with a score of 336.75.
St. Cloud State men's and women's swimming and diving will return to action as they travel to Brookings, S.D. to take on South Dakota State on Jan. 19.
