Husky Athletics Invites Nominations for SCSU Athletic Hall of Fame

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is seeking nominations of eligible individuals for the Hall of Fame. The Committee is accepting nominations through March 1, 2013.
Candidates for the Athletic Hall of Fame should be athletic letterwinners, coaches, or individuals who have made exceptional contributions to St. Cloud State athletics.
The nominations will be reviewed by the committee in early spring with an induction ceremony next school year at a date to be determined
The St. Cloud State Athletic Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 1982. Since that time, the Hall has grown to 171 individual members plus three teams.
Lou Filippi and Ed Colletti were the first inductees in 1982. The first female was inducted in 1984, Ann Govednik Van Steinburg. Since 2005 induction ceremonies have taken place every other year. The last group was inducted in 2011 and included former head hockey coach Charlie Basch, Distinguished Service Award winner Tina Gust, women's basketball and track and field standouts Tami Jameson Hall and Simona Samuelson, softball and tennis athlete Michelle Lechner, men's basketball player Daveid Linehan and former basketball, track athlete and coach Jack Haddorff.
