Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight, Defeats Minot State 3-1

Minot, N.D. -- The St. Cloud State University volleyball team took on Minot State University in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action this evening. The Huskies won the first two sets handily, defeating the Beavers 25-19 and 25-14. Minot State battled back and took the third set 25-23. St. Cloud State clinched the match with a 25-15 fourth set victory.Â
The Huskies improve to 12-5 overall and 6-3 in the NSIC. This bumps St. Cloud State into third place in the conference standings. Minot State falls to 7-11 overall, 3-6 in conference action.Â
Michelle Blaeser recapped the match stating, "Our team had a great win this evening. Allison Butler played exceptionally well and posted some great numbers."
Dani Domeier (Norwood Young America) led the Huskies with 15 kills this evening, while hitting a .375 attack percentage. Domeier collected her fifth double-double of the season, as she also managed to collect 13 digs.Â
Ellie Dietzen (Black Creek, Wis.) posted ten kills, while Kellan Flynn (Tomahawk, Wis.) and Allison Butler (Burnsville) each finished with nine. Flynn finished with a .438 attack percentage. Flynn and Butler also each collected four block assists.Â
Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley) dished out 43 assists.Â
Briane Stamer (Hutchinson) had a team-high 20 digs.Â
The Huskies are in good shape as they look forward to taking on Northern State University and MSU Moorhead next weekend, Oct. 18 and 19. These matches will be held in St. Cloud at Halenbeck Hall.Â
