SCSU Volleyball: Huskies Shut Down Upper Iowa, 3-0

St. Cloud. Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University volleyball team hosted Upper Iowa University in NSIC play this afternoon. The Huskies kept their momentum rolling from last night's win over Winona State and defeated the Peacocks in three straight sets with scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-23.Â
With the win the Huskies improve to 10-5 overall, 4-3 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa falls to 6-10 overall, 2-5 in conference play.Â
Ellie Dietzen (Black Creek, Wis.) led the Huskies with 11 kills and a .375 attack percentage. Kellan Flynn (Tomahawk, Wis.) finished with nine kills. Both Flynn and Dietzen had five blocks in the match.Â
St. Cloud State combined for 20 blocks on the night. Upper Iowa finished with 12.
Allison Butler (Burnsville) had a well-rounded outing as she finished with seven kills, four service aces and 12 digs.Â
Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson) had a team-high 14 digs. Dani Domeier (Norwood Young America) and Shannon Klink (Hartford, Wis.) each added nine.
Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley) finished with 34 assists.Â
St. Cloud State will return to action on Oct. 11 and 12 as they travel to the University of Mary and Minot State University. The Huskies will take on the Marauders of U-Mary at 7 p.m. on Friday. Saturday's match against Minot State is scheduled for 7 p.m.
