Women's Golf Claims Dual Win over College of Saint Benedict

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University women's golf team posted its lowest team score of the season and claimed a dual win over the College of St. Benedict in a match played Friday afternoon at the St. Cloud Country Club.
Final Results
The Huskies posted a team score of 316, their lowest of the season. St. Ben's posted a 341.
St. Cloud State had two players shoot in the 70's led by junior Katie Kruchten (St. Cloud) who won medalist honors. Kruchten posted a 40 on the front side and went two under par on the back side with birdies on 10 and 11. She finished the round with a two-over-par 74.
First year teammate Laurel Enstrom (Rock Island, Ill.) shot a 78 and placed second. She also had two birdies on the back nine. Sophomore Brooke Taylor (Chandler, Ariz.) and first year player Lucy Gaetz (St. Cloud) tied for third after rounds of 82. Sophomore Taylor Chase (Franklin, Wis.) rounded out the Huskies top five. She finished in tenth place with an 87.
College of St. Benedict was led by Grace Todora and Bridget Cummings. The two shot identical scores of 83 and tied for fifth place. Lauren Wise shot an 85 and tied for seventh place.
Next up for the Huskies is the NSIC Fall Championship, Oct. 4-6 at The Classic in Brainerd.
