CBS Sports Network to Televise Game on Jan. 17
#3/4 St. Cloud State University (12-3-3, 7-2-1-0 NCHC) will host NCHC rival Western Michigan University (11-8-3, 5-5-0 NCHC) on Friday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center (5,371 cap./200x100) in St. Cloud, Minn. The game on Jan. 17 will begin at 6:07 p.m. (CT) and the game on Jan. 18 will start at 7:07 p.m. (CT).
LISTEN TO THE HUSKIES THIS WEEKEND: Fans can follow all the action from live on KNSI AM 1450/FM 103.3 this weekend. You can listen on the web at www.knsiradio.com with Dan Terhaar and Dave Reichel providing the call.  The games will also air on KVSC FM 88.1 (www.kvsc.org).
WATCH THE GAME: The Jan. 17 game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network. This will be a national telecast and fans should check their local cable listings for the location of CBS Sports Network on their dial. CBS Sports Network is available locally on Charter Cable channel 412, and it is available on DirecTV channel 613 and Dish Network channel 158. There will be no live video streaming available for the game on Jan. 17. The game on Jan. 18 will be televised by Husky Productions on Charter Cable channel 823/426 in St. Cloud and on Comcast Cable channel 999 in the Twin Cities. Fans can watch the Jan. 18 game online through the Stretch Internet PPV service. Just visit the SCSU website FAN ZONE at SCSU Stretch Internet PPV (Saturday only for details.

WOLTERS KLUWER SKATE WITH THE HUSKIES: Stick around after the game on Jan. 18 for the Wolters Kluwer Financial Servies Skate with the Huskies event. Fans will have an opportunity to skate on the ice at the Brooks Center with the Huskies after the finish of the SCSU-WMU game on Jan. 18. This is a great way to meet your favorite SCSU hockey players and get a chance to skate on the rink where the Huskies play. The game on Jan. 18 will also be $1.00 hot dog night at the concession stands and admission for the games on Jan. 17-18 will only be $15.

THE STREAK HAS ENDED: St. Cloud State suffered its first road loss of the 2013-14 season on Jan. 11 with a 5-2 loss at Denver. The Huskies are now 9-1-0 on the road this season. The nine-game road win streak is the longest in the team's Division I history since 1987-88. The loss was also SCSU's first defeat on a Saturday night in 2013-14. In the second game of a series this season, the Huskies now own a 6-1-2 record.
HE'S HOT: Sophomore Jonny Brodzinski, who led all NCAA Division I rookies in 2012-13 with 22 goals, is getting back into stride this winter. Brodzinski had a slow start in 2013-14 with only one goal in his first eight games. Since that time, Brodzinski has scored 10 goals in the Huskies' last 10 games. He scored two goals in the Huskies' 6-3 win at Denver on Jan. 10 and added another goal in the loss at DU on Jan. 11. On the season, Brodzinski leads the Huskies with 11 goals and 19 points.
CLOSING IN: Senior forward Nic Dowd charted a goal and an assist during the Huskies' 6-3 win at Denver on Jan. 10. Dowd's season totals now stand at 10 goals and seven assists in 2013-14. The goal was Dowd's 40th as a Husky and he is just two points away from joining the Huskies' 100-point club. In 135 games played, Dowd now has 40 goals and 58 assists for 98 points. He would become the 25th player in team history (all games played at the DI level) to join the SCSU 100-point club.
FARAGHER FACTS: Junior goalie Ryan Faragher collected his 11th win of the campaign on Jan. 10 at Denver. Faragher owns a 2.13 goals against average this season with a .920 save rate to his credit. He has charted 378 saves this season and has only allowed 33 goals in 929:47 minutes of play. Faragher ranks fifth in the country with a winning rate of .800 in 2013-14. In his career at SCSU, Faragher ranks third in the team records with 44 career wins and seventh with 1,988 career saves. Faragher is 44-27-6 during his career at SCSU and his career goals against average currently stands at 2.39.
THREE GOAL ROLL: Jimmy Murray posted a pair of goals in the Huskies' weekend series at Denver on Jan. 10-11. He now has three goals this season and will bring a three-game point streak into the Huskies' series against Western Michigan. Jonny Brodzinski will also bring a three-game goal scoring streak into the games against Western Michigan. In his last three outings, Brodzinski has notched four games and one assist for a total of five points.
RARE EVENT: In a rare high-scoring loss this season, the Huskies allowed a season game-high five goals during their 5-2 defeat at Denver on Jan. 11. Previously, the most goals allowed in a game this season by the Huskies was four in a 4-1 loss against Union on Dec. 13, 2013. Â
NATIONAL NOTICE:  The Huskies currently rank ninth in the nation on defense with a goals allowed per game average of 2.22. SCSU has only allowed 40 goals in 18 games played this season. On offense, SCSU ranks fifth in the nation with a scoring rate of 3.56 goals per game. SCSU has scored 64 goals in 2013-14. Of note, Western Michigan ranks 13th in the nation on defense with a rate of 2.32 goals allowed per game... Nic Dowd ranks fourth in the nation with four game winning goals to his credit. Last year, Dowd tied a team record with five game winning goals and he now has 11 game winners to his credit in his career. He is tied in the team records for most career game winners along with Tim Hanus (1988-92) at 11. Joe Jensen (2002-06) and Ryan Lasch (2006-10) own the team record for most career game winners at 13 apiece. He also ranks 11th in the nation with a team-leading five power play goals in 2013-14.
PAIRWISE HUSKIES: In the pairwise rankings on Jan. 15, the Huskies were ranked fifth. In the USCHO.com RPI rankings, SCSU was ranked fifth. The Huskies are looking to maintain their national rankings with hopes of gaining another NCAA tournament bid. SCSU has earned NCAA tournament bids in 1989, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2013. The Huskies advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four for the first time in team history during the 2013 season.
