The St. Cloud State University soccer snapped ended its NSIC road weekend with a 1-0 victory at Wayne State College on Sunday, Oct. 12, in Wayne, Neb. The victory moved SCSU's season record to 4-8, 3-6 NSIC while Wayne State now owns a 1-10-1, 0-9-0 NSIC record in 2014.

The Huskies earned the league points with a goal by Taige Thoreson at 18:33 of the game. She scored on a header off of a free kick with the solo assist on the play going to teammate Gabby Fleck. This was Thoreson's second goal of the weekend and her third goal of the season for the Huskies.

Kenzie Hanzlik earned the shutout win in the nets for the Huskies with four saves to her credit. Of note, WSC outshot the Huskies 10-9 in the game. Thoreson led SCSU with five shots and Naomi Kolhoff had three shots for SCSU.

The Huskies will continue their 2014 season with a home game on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. against the University of Mary. On Sunday, Oct. 19, the Huskies will host Minot State for a 1 p.m. match at Husky Stadium.
