St. Cloud State Women's Hockey Topples Ohio State, 4-2

Columbus, Ohio - The St. Cloud State University women's hockey team (3-3-1, 2-0-1 WCHA) continued its early season success in league play with a  big 4-2 victory at the Ohio State University (4-3-0, 2-3-0 WCHA) on Friday, Oct. 31 in Columbus, Ohio.
The Huskies battled back from a 2-0 deficit at the end of the first period by scoring three goals in the second period to ice the contest.
After first period OSU goals by Julie McKinnon and Melani Moylan, the Huskies started the comeback with a goal at 2:49 of the second period by Molly Illikainen. Â She was assisted on the play by Jenna Redford and Mackenzie Johnson.
The Huskies tied the game one minute later with an unassisted goal by Lexi Slattery at 3:29 of the second. Â Illikainen added the game winner at 9:22 of the 2nd with her unassisted shorthanded goal that made it 3-2. Â In the final period, Audrey Hanmer iced it with an empty net goal at 19:21 for the Huskies.
OSU outshot the Huskies 45-19 as Julie Friend made a total of 43 saves in goal. Â On the power play, SCSU is 0-of-3 and OSU was 0-of-5 in the contest.
