Wisconsin Sweeps SCSU in Weekend Series

St. Cloud, Minn.---The St. Cloud State Huskies (5-8-1, 2-5-1 WCHA) lost in Saturday's game against the University of Wisconsin (13-2-1, 11-2-1 WCHA) at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Â
After a scoreless first period, Badger forward, Katy Josephs, took advantage of a turnover and sent her teammate on a breakaway, where she put one past SCSU goaltender Katie Fitzgerald. Wisconsin didn't wait long to extend their lead, getting 2 goals within 2 minutes of each other, sending the game into the third with a 2-0 score. Late in the third period, the Badgers scored the final goal to take the game 3-0.
The Huskies were unable to score in two games against Wisconsin. Katie Fitzgerald was faced with 44 shots on net and the Huskies tallied 15. Fitzgerald now has a record of 1-4-1, 0-3-1 WCHA.
The Huskies will play in an exhibition game against the University of Minnesota on Monday Nov. 24 in Edina, MN at 7:00pm.
