Women's Basketball Rolls to 87-46 Win over Minnesota Crookston

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team rolled to an 87-46 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North Division win over Minnesota Crookston Friday night at Halenbeck Hall.
The win improved the Huskies record to 15-10 and 11-10 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles dropped to 10-15 and 7-14 in the league. St. Cloud State will host Bemidji State Saturday at 4 p.m. in the regular season finale.
Five St. Cloud State players scored in double figures led by sophomore forward Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) with 17 points .
Seniors Jessica Benson (Grand Meadow) and Sam Price (EauClaire, Wis.) had 14 points each. Benson added a game high nine rebounds and dished out five assists. Price also had five assists. Senior guard Rachael Moen (Savage) added 11 points and four assists.
Sophomore forward Emma Konopasek (De Pere, Wis.) threw in ten points, five rebounds and three assists. She was four-of-four from the field.
Minnesota Crookston was led by Katrina Moenkedick and Ebony Livingston. Moenkedick scored 12 points and Livingston ten for the Golden Eagles.
The Huskies shot 53.1 percent from the field and out-rebounded Minnesota Crookston, 47-25. St. Cloud State's bench scored 36 points as all 13 players had playing time.
A Betsy McDonald three at the 13:26 mark of the first half gave the Huskies the lead for good, 16-13. St. Cloud State went on to lead 38-25 at the half and outscored the Golden Eagles, 49-21 in the second half.
St. Cloud State will honor its three seniors, Benson, Moen and Price immediately following tomorrows game with an on-court presentation.
