He is the 27th player in team history at the NCAA Division I level to score 100-or-more career points at SCSU.
The Huskies padded their lead to 2-0 with a goal by Blake Winiecki at 13:12 of the first period with the assists going to Nathan Widman and Jacob Benson. This was Benson's first collegiate point for the Huskies. The goal capped a strong first period that saw SCSU outshoot UA by a 9-4 margin. The Huskies also took advantage of four penalties called against the Nanooks in the first period.
Following a scoreless second period, SCSU capped the night in the third period with a goal by Judd Peterson at 6:26 that made the final 3-0. Peterson jumped on a loose puck in the crease to tap home the point with assisted being credited to Mikey Essyimont and Jimmy Murray. This was Essyimont's first goal as a Husky.
