The  St. Cloud State University Women's Hockey Team (2-4-0, 0-4-0 WCHA) is set to host the #7 University of North Dakota (4-1-1, 2-1-1 WCHA) on Oct. 23-24. Â
Game time on Oct. 23 is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. and the game on Oct. 24 will begin at 3:07 p.m. in the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center at St. Cloud State University. Â Tickets for both of these games are available at the gate.
As a special promotion throughout the 2015-16 season, all youth (grades 12 and under) will be admitted FREE to all regular season SCSU women's hockey games this winter. Â SCSU students with a valid SCSU student ID card will also be admitted to all regular season St. Cloud State women's hockey home games in 2015-16. Â Just show you ID card at the gate and you get in FREE...it's that simple!Â
Senior defense, Lexi Slattery, is leading the Huskies in points with 2 goals and 3 assits so far this season. She recieved WCHA co-defensive player of the week after her performence in the season opening series at Merrimack. Brittney Anderson follows close behind with 4 assists.Â
Lexy Slatterygoalie Katie Fitzgerald has played in five games for the Huskies this season and has charted 134 saves. Â Her career goals against average is 3.30 and her career save rate is .903. Â She ranks 6th in the team records with 1367 career saves and is 3rd in the team records with 27.90 saves per game. Â Laura Gieselman (1999-03) is the all-time SCSU save leader with 3,077 during her college career.
Molly Illikainen is SCSU's active career scoring leader with 22 points in two season at SCSU. Â She has posted 10 goals and 12 assists in two seasons with the Huskies. Â In 2015-16, Illikainen has three assists in five games played.
SCSU head coach Eric Rud is in his second season with the Huskies. Â He joined the staff at SCSU in 2014-15.
SCSU's early season schedule has been a tough one. Â The Huskies have already faced #1 Minnesota and #3 Wisconsin. Â On Oct. 23-24, the Huskies will battled #7 North Dakota and on Oct. 30-31, the Huskies will tangle with #6 Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn.
