SCSU Volleyball Takes on Sioux Falls and #5 Southwest Minn. State

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University volleyball team will hit the road this weekend as they travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. and Marshall, Minn. The Huskies will take on the Cougars of USF on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. and #5 Southwest Minn. State on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3 p.m.

St. Cloud State Notes

The Huskies are coming off two NSIC wins over Minot State (3-0) and the University of Mary (3-0).
St. Cloud State holds a 7-8 overall record and is 3-4 in the NSIC.
Rachel Burke leads the Huskies in kills with 139, averaging 2.67 kills per set.
Allison Butler (Burnsville, Minn.) has tallied 361 assists on the season, averaging 6.81 assists per set. This ranks Butler 13^th in the NSIC in Assists. Butler also ranks 11^th in the conference in service aces with 16 on the season.
Brianne Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) leads the Huskies defensively with 301 digs, averaging 5.68 per set. This ranks Stamer second in the NSIC.

University of Sioux Falls Notes

The Cougars are currently suffering from an eight-match losing streak. Their most recent losses come from Winona State (0-3) and Upper Iowa (2-3).
USF stands at 8-8 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
Makenna Rockeman leads the Cougars with 176 kills, averaging 2.89 per set.
Jordan Calef ranks seventh in the conference in hitting percentage with a .359.

#5 Southwest Minnesota State University Notes

Southwest Minnesota State University ranks fifth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll.
The Mustangs are currently 12-3 overall and 5-2 in the NSIC. Their most recent wins were against Upper Iowa (3-0) and Winona State (3-1).
Abbey Thissen leads Southwest Minn. State with 201 kills, averaging 3.65 kills per set. This ranks Thissen seventh in the NSIC.
Megan Larson ranks fourth in the conference in assists with 651 on the season, averaging 11.84 assists per set.
