SCSU's Enstrom selected for play at 2016 NCAA Division II Super Regional

The NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee has selected the teams and individuals that will compete in the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships. The NCAA Division II women's golf super regional competition will be conducted May 2-4. Â The St. Cloud State University women's golf team will be represented at the 2016 NCAA Division II Central Super Regional by junior Laurel Enstrom.
The NCAA Division II Central Super Regional tournament will be held on May 2-4 at the Awarii Dunes Golf Course in Axtell, Neb. Â The University of Nebraska at Kearney will serve as the tournament host. Â The other Super Regionals will be held at Marcus Pointe G.C. in Pensacola, Fla. (South), Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill. (East) and the Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif. (West).
Each super regional will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with twelve teams and six individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site. Â All participants will compete throughout the 54 holes of competition. Â The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships.
The 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships will be held May 18-21, at CommonGround Golf Course in Aurora, Colorado. The championships will be part of the 2016 NCAA Division II Championships Festival.  Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Denver Sports Commission will serve as the hosts.   The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently.  All participants will compete throughout the entire 72 holes of competition and the low four scores for each team will count in each day's total score. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 72.Â
The teams to qualify for the Central Regional are  Northeastern State, Augustana (South Dakota), Central Oklahoma, Arkansas Tech, Lindenwood , Henderson State , Southwestern Oklahoma State, Missouri Western State, Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota State Mankato, Upper Iowa and Central Missouri.  Along with Enstrom, the other individuals to qualify for the Central Regional are Katya Hoffman, Winona State, Kaleigh Ashen, Northwest Missouri State, Frida Rydberg, Arkansas-Monticello, Lauren Johnson, Arkansas-Monticello and Helle Leed, Southern Arkansas.
Enstrom recently placed 10th in the 2015-16 NSIC championships with a four-round total of 332. Â She has consistently ranked as SCSU's top golfer throughout the fall and spring schedules in 2015-16. Â Enstrom leads the team this year with an 18-hole average of 80.0. Â She also leads the team with a low round score of 71 this season.
She is a graduate of Rock Island High School and a resident of Rock Island, Ill.
