Volleyball On The Road For A Pair Of NSIC Matches This Weekend

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State volleyball team (12-7, 4-5NSIC) plays a pair of NSIC road matches this weekend. The program begins the weekend and travels Fayette, Iowa to take on Upper Iowa (15-3, 6-3 NSIC) on Friday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. at the Dorman Gymnasium. The program continues the road swing and heads to Winona, Minn. to take on No. 14 Winona State (13-4, 7-2 NSIC) on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. at McCown Gymnasium.

This Week's Opponents / Series History

Upper Iowa swept both Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston over the weekend and have won their last four matches coming into this weekend.
This will be the fifth home match of the season for UIU, who are 2-2 at Dorman Gymnasium this season.
The Peacocks have been led this season by Anna Winter's 211 kills and 3.35 kills per set.
Haley Weepie has totaled 170 kills
Malissa LeClaire leads the team with her 588 assists and 26 service aces.
Bethany Lovhaug is the squad's leader with 77 blocks.
Ashley Larson leads the team with her 316 digs (an average of 5.02 per set).
Upper Iowa holds a slight 10-9 lead against St. Cloud in the all-time series since the first meeting in 2004.

Danielle Rampart leads the team with her 214 kills (an average of 3.63 kills per set).
Maria Wrage has 149 kills and 28 blocks.
McKenna Larsen has 24 service aces plus 584 assists.
Becca Pagel leads the squad with her 315 digs.
The Huskies lead the all-time series with Winona State 38-17 since the schools first meet in 1969.

St. Cloud State went 2-1 last week with a non-conference victory over Bemidji State on Tuesday and a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Minnesota State on Saturday.
The team's only loss on the week was to the then No. 2 ranked team in the country, Concordia-St. Paul.
Redshirt freshman Abby Templin and senior Becca Gruber tied for the team lead on the week with 26 kills.
Templin also hit .294 in the three matches.
Junior Krista Kuglin totaled 25 kills while hitting .356.
Sophomore Clara Krenz led the squad with her 52 digs (5.20 digs per set) on the week.
Senior Nicole Miller leads the team on the season with 178 kills (2.66 per set).
Miller also has 227 digs (3.39 digs per set) and 23 service aces.
She ranks tied for eighth in the NSIC in service aces, ninth in total attacks (567), 10th in total digs, 15th in aces per set (0.34) and digs per set (3.39) plus 18th in total kills.
Gruber is second on the squad with her 177 kills (2.68 per set).
She is 19th in the league kills.
Krenz leads the NSIC in both total digs (375) and digs per set (5.68).
She is tied for eighth in service aces (23) and 14thh in aces per set (0.35)
Senior Kayla Crane leads the team and is 14thh in the NSIC in assists (390).
She is also 14th in assists per set (5.82).
Freshman Maddy Torve is second on the team and 17thh in the NSIC in assists (311) and 18thh in assists per set (4.64).
Sophomore Marah Mulso is 11th in total blocks (55) and 15th in blocks per set (0.86)
In the NSIC team rankings, SCSU is second in total attacks (2,561), third in digs per set (16.96), total digs (1,136) and service aces (102), fourth in attacks per set (38.22), sixth in team assists (809) and team kills (869).

St. Cloud State has a pair of matches next weekend with contests against University of Mary on Friday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. and against Minot State on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.
The program is 8-6 all-time against the University of Mary since the first match in 1990.
