Volleyball Closes Out 2017 Regular Season With Road Matches Against No. 22 Wayne State College and No. 18 Augustana This Weekend

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State volleyball team (16-12, 8-10 NSIC) plays a pair of NSIC road matches this weekend to close out the 2017 regular season. The program begins the weekend and travels Wayne, Neb. to take on No. 22 Wayne State College (18-10, 11-7 NSIC) on Friday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Rice Auditorium. The program continues the road swing and heads to Sioux Falls, S.D. to play against No. 18 Augustana (20-8, 11-7 NSIC) on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Elmen Center.

- The Wildcats were also to pull off a 3-1 road upset of then No. 16 Augustana on Tuesday.

- Jaci Brahmer has 261 kills (2.41 per set), is hitting .326 plus 111 blocks (1.06 per set).
- Katie Stephens has totaled 243 kills (2.36 per set) and 312 digs.
- Megan Gebhardt leads the squad with her 1,012 assists.
- Gebhardt also has 23 services aces.

- St. Cloud State went 1-2 on the week with losses to then No. 9 Minnesota Duluth and No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State plus a five-set victory over Sioux Falls.
- The Huskies 16 wins this season is the most wins for the program since 2004 and only the third time in the last 20 years that the program has won 15 or more matches.
- The program is an impressive 4-1 in five-set contests this season.
- The team's eight wins in the conference play are the most since 2013 when the program also had eight NSIC wins and only the third time since joining the league that the program has won eight or more NSIC wins.
- Senior Becca Gruber led the team last week with 30 kills (2.50 per set).
- Gruber tied her career-high with 16 kills against Sioux Falls on Friday evening, Nov. 3.
- Redshirt freshman Abby Templin totaled 23 kills in the three matches.
- Freshman Erin Navratil recorded 20 kills plus a .221 hitting percentage.
- Senior Nicole Miller, senior Kayla Crane, sophomore Kayla Crane and freshman Taylor Olstad all tied for the team lead with four service aces each.
- Crane also had 55 assists.
- Freshman Maddy Torve led the team on the week with her 59 assists (4.92 per set).
- Clara Krenz led the team with 74 digs (6.17 per set).
- Krenz tied her season-high with 33 digs against then No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State.
- It was her fifth time with 30 or more digs in a match this season.
- For her outstanding defensive efforts and leading the league in digs on the week, Krenz was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week (DPOW) for the second time this season on Nov. 6.
- She was also named the DPOW on Sept. 25.
- Krenz continued to climb the school's single season leaderboard and enters the week with 596 digs this season.
- The 596 digs and her average of 5.96 per set lead the conference plus are the second-most in school history and only 82 from the all-time leader (Andreanna Pieper in 2007).
- Krenz also passed 1,000 career digs over the weekend (1,043).
- That is the seventh-most digs in school history and only 61 from reaching Megan Hardy (2004-06) in sixth despite Krenz not even playing two full seasons with the program.
- Krenz also leads the team and is placed tied for ninth in the conference with 32 service aces.
- Nicole Miller is tied with Krenz with 32 service aces.
- Miller is also 10th in the NSIC in service aces per set (0.32) and second on the team with 300 digs and 201 kills.
- Gruber leads the squad with her 259 kills (2.59) and .232 hitting percentage.
- She is 20th in the conference is kills.
- Marah Mulso is the team leader with her 82 blocks.
- She is ranked 13th in the conference in blocks.
- Crane leads the team with 550 assists.
- She is placed 15th in assists per game (5.50).
- Torve is second on the team and 17th in the conference with 489 assists (4.84)
