Men’s Basketball Hosts Minnesota Duluth on Saturday

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State men's basketball team (6-3, 3-1 NSIC) continues the home stand and hosts Minnesota Duluth (2-6, 0-4 NSIC) on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.
There will also be a pair of promotions this weekend at the game. On Saturday, the contest will be Youth Day where all kids up to a senior in high school can get in for free with a paid adult. The day will also be $1 hot dogs at the concession stand.

Scouting Minnesota Duluth
- Minnesota Duluth has lost four in a row to start league play and currently stand at 2-6.
- The team fell last weekend at home to Southwest Minnesota State (68-65) and Sioux Falls (91-66).
- Both of the Bulldogs wins this season have come away from home.
- Brandon Myer is the leading scorer at 15.1 points per game.
- He is shooting 47.8 percent from the field, 30.4 percent from three-point range and 87.5 percent from the line.
- He is also the squad's leading rebounder with 47 rebounds (5.9 per game).
- Myer also leads the team in both blocks (9) and steals (11).
- Logan Rohrscheib had led the team in scoring in four games and is averaging 14.3 points per game.
- Trevor Enstwisle puts up 9.9 points per game and leads the team with 26 assists.
- Entwisle is also second on the team with 10 steals.
- Minnesota Duluth is the top free throw shooting team in the conference at 83.4 percent.
- The team also commits the fewest turnovers per game in the league (9.4).
- UMD is averaging 70 points per game, while shooting 40.7 percent from the field, 31 percent from three-point range and 83.4 percent from the free throw line.
- The Bulldogs are coached by Matt Bowen, who is in his sixth season in charge of the program and 12th season as a collegiate head coach.

- The Huskies split the two conference home games last weekend with an 88-82 victory over Sioux Falls on Dec. 8 and an 82-59 loss to Southwest Minnesota State on Dec. 9.
- Against Sioux Falls, the program scored 43 points in the first half and shot 68 percent from the field.
- Sioux Falls was never able to take the lead in the contest although they tied the game up in the second half.
- Senior Jon Averkamp scored a season-high 27 points in the victory.
- His 27 points was one off his career-high of 28 points set against the University of Mary last season (2/10/17).
- Junior Adam Heede-Andersen had a career day with personal highs of 18 points and 10 assists.
- His 18 points was his second career double figure scoring performance
- His 10 assists made Heede-Andersen the first SCSU player to reach double figures in assists since Gage Davis last season against Minot State (11 assists – 2/11/17).
- Junior Sean Smith had a strong performance with 18 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and three steals.

- Junior Brindley Theisen also reached double figures with 12 points.

- Junior Jace Kitchen scored a season-high eight points including six made free throws in as many attempts.
- The Huskies went 30-for-37 from the free throw line in the game.
- The 30 made free throws were the most for the program since 32 made free throws against Wayne State College last season.
- The game marked the fourth time this season that the program did not trail in a victory.
- In the team's loss to SMSU, the Huskies had a seven-point lead early in the contest before the Mustangs took control and cruised to the 23-point victory.
- The 59 points scored by SCSU was the first time that the program had been held below 60 points in a game since scoring 57 against Concordia-St. Paul during the 2014-15 season.
- Theisen led the team with his 13 points.
- It was his third time being the team's leading scorer in a game this season.
- Sophomore Trevon Marshall scored 12 points against SMSU.
- It was his third time in double figures this season and the sixth time in his career.
- Foley totaled 10 points, six rebounds and four assists against SMSU.
- Averkamp picked up 10 rebounds to go along with six points and four assists.
