Men’s Basketball Takes on Iowa Wesleyan on Tuesday

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State men's basketball team (7-3, 4-1 NSIC) completes the home stand and hosts non-conference opponent Iowa Wesleyan (1-9) on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.

Scouting Iowa Wesleyan
- Iowa Wesleyan is 1-9 on the season after defeating Blackburn College by an 88-85 score on the road on Saturday.
- Brock Butler scored 29 points with six rebounds.
- Mitchell Drey totaled 24 points with six rebounds, two steals and four assists.
- The Tigers lost two weekends ago to Greenville University at home at the Ruble Arena by a 126-112 score in regulation.
- The Greenville Panthers' up-tempo three-point style resulted in IW giving up 75 points in the first half.
- The Tigers settled down and won the second half though 64-51.
- Butler scored 39 points in the loss for IW.
- Butler comes into the week averaging 24.8 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from three-point range and 74.6 percent from the free throw line.
- Butler also leads the team with his 54 rebounds (5.4 per game) and is second in assist (23) and third in steals (11).
- He was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (SLIAC) Player of the Week on Dec. 11.
- Elijah Johnson is also scoring in double figures for the team with his average of 11 points per game.
- Mitchell Drey is putting up 14.8 points per game and leads the squad with his 10 blocks.
- Jake Neubauer leads the team with his 15 steals and is shooting 42.9 percent from the field in averaging 7.6 points per game.
- Austin Banks has a team-high 25 assists.
- IW is averaging 73.6 points per game, while shooting 42 percent from the field, 35 percent from three-point range and 67.4 percent from the free throw line.
- The Tigers are coming off a 2016-17 season where they went 18-9 including a mark of 13-5 in the SLIAC.
