The St. Cloud State University soccer (2-3-0, 0-2-0 NSIC) team lost a close 1-0 decision against NSIC rival Concordia-St. Paul (3-1-0, 1-0-0 NSIC) on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn.
The lone goal in the match was posted by the Golden Bears at 54:07 of the game when Brooke Salo scored on a free kick assist from Jade Weller.
The goal proved to be the winning margin in the contest, which was closely contested on both ends of the field. In the game, SCSU outshot Concordia-St. Paul by an 11-6 margin as Kylie Cleary, Hannah Marion and Monica Majeski all had two shots to their credit for the Huskies. The Huskies put five shots on target in the match as CSP goalie Jordyn Clark made all five saves for the shutout. SCSU goalkeeper Leah Schmidt had two save in the game for the Huskies.
The Huskies will continue their 2017 season on Sunday, Sept. 17 with a home match against NSIC rival Minnesota State Mankato. The match at Husky Stadium is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
Fans can purchase tickets for the game at the gate and all SCSU students get into the game for FREE.
