SCSU swim and dive teams collect victories at UW-LaCrosse

The St. Cloud State men's and women's swim and dive teams completed their trip to LaCrosse, Wisc. on Friday, Jan. 12 with a pair of victories over the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Â The SCSU men's team scored a 133-100 victory, while the SCSU women's team posted a 156-89 win at UW-L.
The Huskies gained several first place finishes during the meets including top places by David Sufficool in the 3M diving (310.45) and the 1M event (266.10). Â
SCSU's 200 medley relay team of Annie Hart, Ashley Wilson, Chelsea Gehrke and Jen Thompson placed first with a time of 1:51.82 and the women's 400 free relay of Andrea Bryson, Jessica Kramer, Paige Lay and Jen Thompson placed first at 3:42.24.
Bryson also gained a top finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.97, while teammate Annie Hart placed first in the women's 100 backstroke at 59.78.  The Huskies' Ashley Wilson placed first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:10.57 and Kathryn Stupar was first in the 1000 freestyle event at 11:06.93.  SCSU's Hart posted a first place finish in the 200 IM at 2:18.35 and teammate Maddy Strong was first in the 100 butterfly at 1:00.93.
On the men's side, Brian Burke took the top place in the 100 butterfly at 51.69 and teammate Daniel Nelson tallied a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:33.77.
COMPLETE MEET RESULTS
The Huskies will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 13 with a home meet against NCAA Division I rival South Dakota State. Â The dual meets will begin at 2 p.m. in the Halenbeck Hall Aquatic Center. Â The day has been designated as Senior Day and Parent Day with this year's senior swimmers and divers being saluted along with the team's parents. Â Tickets for the meet are available at the gate.
