The Huskies student-athletes walked the neighborhood surrounding the St. Cloud State University and picked up trash on the day after the final day of the University's Homecoming 2018 week. SAAC representative Natalie Gottschalk, a member of the SCSU track and field team, said the group collected over 20 large bags of trash during event that featured student-athletes from all of St. Cloud State's team that did not have conflicts with competition that day.
"We have such great support from our campus and the local community, and we did the campus clean-up to show our appreciation for the support the community provides to the teams at St. Cloud State," Gottschalk said.
The St. Cloud State SAAC group was also active during the week selling Homecoming 2018 t-shirts at all of the home athletic events on campus. The proceeds from the t-shirt sales will go to help the Make-A-Wish campaign.
