Caleb Donaldson leads with a 29 point effort
MANKATO, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team suffered a 84-69 loss to Minnesota State University Saturday afternoon. The Huskies are now 2-2 on the season and will open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play against Minnesota-Duluth on Tuesday, November 23.
GAME SUMMARY
The Huskies trailed 42-25 entering the locker room at half. Caleb Donaldson (Bloomington, Ill. / Bloomington) scored nearly 50% of St. Cloud State's first half points, as he tallied 12 in the first 20 minutes of play. Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill. / Oak Park) added nine, while a slew of Huskies pulled in two rebounds during the half.
The Huskies tried to chip away at the Mavericks lead, but the 20 point deficit was too much to overcome, as St. Cloud Sate fell to Minnesota State 84-69. As a team, the Huskies shot .441 from the floor in the game, scoring 60+ points for the fourth consecutive time this season. St. Cloud State additionally shot a season-high .800 from the free throw line, going 12-15 including a 4-4 mark from Ryan Bagley (Pocatello, Idaho / Burley).
TOP HUSKIES
- Caleb Donaldson (Bloomington, Ill. / Bloomington) scored a season-high 29 points in 36 minutes of play, shooting 11-16 from the floor and 7-9 from the charity stripe.
- Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill. / Oak Park) closed the game with 17 points on 7-16 shooting with four rebounds, three steals and a block.
- Ryan Bagley (Pocatello, Idaho / Burley) pulled in a team-leading six rebounds and recorded three assists in 38 minutes of play.

St. Cloud State will travel to Duluth, Minnesota for it's NSIC opener, as the Huskies are set to face Minnesota-Duluth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23.
