Leighton will broadcast men’s hockey through 2026
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Athletics and its exclusive multimedia rightsholder, St. Cloud State Sports Properties, announced today a five-year radio relationship with Leighton Broadcasting to broadcast St. Cloud State men's hockey.
Fans will find game action on KNSI AM 1450 / 99.3 FM and KZPZ HD 98.9-2 FM in the St. Cloud area. The new agreement with Radio FM Media is concurrent with the upcoming 2021-22 athletics season.
In addition to hockey game broadcasts, KNSI AM 1450 / 99.3 FM / FM 98.9-2 HD and www.knsiradio.com will bring fans comprehensive coverage for all Husky sports throughout the athletic season, including regular interviews with St. Cloud State Men's Hockey Head Coach Brett Larson.
"I'm thankful for the support and coverage Leighton Broadcasting will provide to our men's hockey program," said Larson. "Our dedicated Husky fans will receive superb coverage from the teams at St. Cloud State Sports Properties and Leighton, and I can't wait to work with them.
Husky fans also can find men's and women's basketball broadcasts and coaches' shows on the TuneIn app or on the Huskies Athletics website at www.scsuhuskies.com.
"We are excited to announce this partnership with Leighton Broadcasting, which will allow us to continue to reach the homes of our great fans as they follow our Huskies Athletics teams," said St. Cloud State Director of Athletics Heather Weems. "The platforms provided by St. Cloud State Sports Properties and Leighton will enhance the gameday experience for our fanbase by allowing Husky fans to become more familiar with our St. Cloud State student-athletes and coaches through the gameday coverage, in-depth interviews and coaches shows.
St. Cloud State Sports Properties is the locally based LEARFIELD team which manages all broadcast operations and corporate partnerships for SCSU as part of the overall multimedia rights relationship.
"KNSI Radio Sports and the St. Cloud Huskies have a long and successful history of partnering with the local hockey community, providing the best in sports opportunities, entertainment and championship hockey," said Bob Hughes, Program Director at Leighton Broadcasting.
