Bangs and Matchinsky Earn Conference Weekly Honors

Both Huskies recognized for the performances at St. Thomas Open
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – A pair of St. Cloud State Swim & Dive student-athletes earned weekly conference recognition, as announced by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) on Nov. 15. Sophomore Meredith Bangs (Muskego, Wis.) was named the NSIC Swimmer of the Week, while senior Meredith Matchinsky (St. Cloud, Minn.) was named the Diver of the Week.
Bangs won three events at the St. Thomas Open, competing against Division-I St. Thomas and Minnesota State. She won the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.83, the 400 IM at 4:38.70 and the 100 Freestyle at 54.12. She also swam a leg of the 200 Freestyle Relay which finished first.
Matchinsky was named the Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season after a pair of victories at the St. Thomas Open. She won the 1-meter dive at 416.25 and the 3-meter dive at 250.30.
