Huskies win 200-yard medley relay, Hoppman finished second in 50-yard freestyle
WEST FARGO, N.D. – The St. Cloud State Women's Swim & Dive team opened the first day of competition at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championships with one conference championship, two all-conference performances and one NCAA B-cut time. In the team standings, SCSU sits in second place with 213.5 points, only trailing Minnesota State with 299 points.
The Huskies kicked off the first finals session of the meet with a conference title in the 200-yard medley relay, posting a time of 1:42.80. The team of junior Lucy Price (Ballwin, Mo.), sophomore Hallie Drossel (Melrose, Minn.), freshman Megan Willenbring (Watkins, Minn.) and sophomore Emma Hoppman (Red Wing, Minn.) took home the title and 48 points for the Huskies. Hoppman then continued her impressive session by finishing second in the 50-yard freestyle with an NCAA B-cut time of 23.38 and earning ALL-NSIC honors.
