Sanni Ahola named WCHA Goaltender of the Month

Junior tender led the league in wins while posting a 1.80 GAA during November
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey junior goalie Sanni Ahola has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Goaltender of the Month after her dominant month of November.
A native of Helsinki, Finland, Ahola led the WCHA in wins by going 3-1-0 while helping the Huskies to a 5-2-0 record on the month. She recorded a 1.80 goals against average while playing the third-most minutes of all league tenders, stopping shots at a .929 clip. The junior shut out Bemidji State in her first start of the month then followed with a 34-save effort in the Huskies' 4-1 win over No. 1 Minnesota.
Ahola is the first Husky to earn a monthly honor from the WCHA since January 2020 and becomes just the fourth player to be recognized as a conference Player of the Month in program history. Olivia Cvar earned WCHA Rookie of the Month in January 2020, Klára Hymlárová was named December Rookie of the Month in 2019 and Katie Fitzgerald picked up Defensive Player of the Month honors in November of 2015.
