Huskies battle No. 5 Bulldogs three times to close regular season

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey concludes their 2021-22 regular season this week with three games against No. 5 Minnesota-Duluth, hosting the Bulldogs in the Huskies' home finale on Tuesday then traveling to Amsoil Arena on Friday and Saturday. Puck drop for each of the three games is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT.
Coverage of the series can be seen on B1G+ and heard on both 97.5 FM RadioX (Tuesday) and 88.1 FM KVSC (Friday-Saturday), with links available on the SCSU Women's Hockey schedule page. Friday's tilt will be broadcast on Bally Sports North.
SCSU fell to No. 2 Ohio State on Tuesday then was swept by No. 1 Minnesota last weekend in a home-and-home. Emma Polusny has anchored the goaltending room, going 4-7-2 with a 2.92 GAA and a .925 save percentage. Taylor Lind leads the Huskies in points with a 7-16-23 line, while Emma Gentry is the goal leader with 15 to go with six apples for 21 points. Olivia Cvar has scored five times in the new year, boasting a 9-3-12 line. Courtney Hall has been red-hot as of late, providing St. Cloud State with an 2-9-11 line while Mackenzie Bourgerie (4-5-9) owns a career-high nine points, finding homes as playmakers. On the blue line, Dayle Ross leads SCSU with 53 blocks while McKenna Wesloh (1-7-8) leads all Huskies defenders in points. Sanni Ahola has earned five wins as the other half of SCSU's goaltending duo.
Minnesota-Duluth swept St. Thomas last weekend after splitting with Wisconsin the weekend prior. The top line of Gabbie Hughes (16-33-49), Elizabeth Giguere (18-29-47) and Anna Klein (17-23-40) have each reached the 40-point mark this season while skating to a combined plus-95. Naomi Rogge (13-12-25), Clara Van Wieren (8-17-25), Mannon McMahon (3-14-17) and Anneke Linser (5-8-13) give UMD seven players more than 10 points, while Maggie Flaherty has anchored the D-corps by skating to a plus-28 with 43 blocks. Sophomore tender Jojo Chobak has taken over the net in the absence of Olympian Emma Soderberg, going 7-2-0 in four starts with a .930 save percentage and a 1.71 goals against average.
St. Cloud State will begin postseason play on the road with the WCHA Quarterfinals next weekend.
