6 different Huskies score in 6-2 victory on Senior night
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 11 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (17-11-4, 9-9-4 NCHC) had six different skaters score a goal to finish off a sweep of Colorado College (9-20-3, 6-15-1 NCHC), winning 6-2 on Saturday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Among the six scorers were three seniors that were honored on senior night, as well as graduate forward Kevin Fitzgerald (Hinsdale, Ill.) who recorded his 100th career point.
 
After the game, the Huskies honored Brendan Bushy (Thief River Falls, Minn.), Sam Hentges (New Brighton, Minn.), Spencer Meier (Sartell, Minn.), Micah Miller (Grand Rapids, Minn.), Nick Perbix (Elk River, Minn.), Aidan Spellacy (Lakewood, Ohio) and Nolan Walker (Anchorage, Ala.) for their contributions to the program over the last four seasons. The group of seven seniors have helped St. Cloud State win one NCHC regular season championship, claim two NCAA tournament bids and its first-ever National Championship appearance in 2021 while winning 80 games since 2018-19.
 
TURNING POINT
 
The Huskies grabbed momentum right away in the first period, as they scored two goals in the first period to lead 2-0 heading into the first break. Sophomore forward Veeti Miettinen (Espoo, Finland) scored the first goal of the game on the power play at 9:15 in the period, while Fitzgerald added an even-strength goal at 15:12 to record his 100th career point.
 
The Huskies added two more goals in the second period from freshman defenseman Josh Luedtke (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Miller to increase its lead to 4-0 after two periods. Colorado College opened the third period with a pair of goals to cut St. Cloud State's in half, but the Huskies responded with goals from Hentges and an empty netter from Walker to seal the victory.

St. Cloud State will hit the road to No. 8/9 Minnesota Duluth to end the regular season, as the Huskies and Bulldogs will play March 4-5 at Amsoil Arena. The two teams will determine who gets home ice in the NCHC quarterfinals, as the Bulldogs currently have a two-point advantage on the Huskies in the conference standings, 34-32.

- Miller scored his 10th goal of the season in the second period and added an assist in the first on Fitzgerald's goal.
- One night after scoring three points, Hentges continued his hot streak with a goal and an assist for two points.
- Fitzgerald scored a goal in the first period to join St. Cloud State's 100-point club.
- St. Cloud State's nation-leading power play unit scored twice with a man-advantage and now sits at 33.1 percent (43-of-130) on the season.
- The Huskies once again scored early and often, as St. Cloud State tallied two first period goals for the second straight night. The Huskies have outscored their opponents 41-14 in the opening period this season, and improve to 16-4-1 when scoring first, 14-3-1 when leading after the first period, and 16-0-2 when leading after two periods.
- The Huskies won the battle in the faceoff dot, winning 32-27 over the Tigers, while Walker and Fitzgerald won 14 and 12 faceoffs, respectively.
- Fitzgerald tallied his 100th career point with a first-period goal to become the 38th member (36 with D-I stats only) of St. Cloud State's 100-point club. The fifth-year Husky has produced numerous career-highs in his final collegiate season, including goals (16), assists (17), points (33) and power play goals (seven).
- Hentges continued his remarkable stretch of play with another multi-point outing, tallying a goal and assist, his 10th and ninth of the season, respectively.
- The 2022 Olympian has produced 19 points in 15 games this season, good enough for a mark of 1.3 points per game.
- Miller had two points with a goal and assist in the game, his 10th and eight of the season, respectively. It marked the third time this season and eighth time in his career he has recorded multiple points in a game.
- The Husky senior matched a career high with 18 points on the season, the same mark he hit in 2019-20.
- Miettinen netted his ninth goal of the season and matched a career-best with his 13th assist of the season. It was Miettinen's sixth multi-point game of the season and the 13th of his career.
- Sophomore Kyler Kupka (Camrose, Alberta) added to his career-best assist total with his 11th and 12th assists of the season. It marked the third time this season he's tallied at least two assists in a game.
- Perbix added to his career-best point total with another two assists, now recording 24 assists on the season.
- Senior forward Easton Brodzinski (Blaine, Minn.) had two assists in the game and now has 124 career points, moving to 14th all-time in program history.
- The Husky senior played in his 171st career game, matching Drew LeBlanc (2008-13) for the most in program history.
- Luedtke scored his third goal of the season and recorded his first career game-winning goal with a second-period tally.
