ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (2-4-1, 1-2-1 NSIC) will continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play this weekend when the Huskies travel to face Southwest Minnesota State (0-3-4, 0-3-1) and Sioux Falls (0-5-2, 0-2-2). St. Cloud State and the Mustangs will play at 3:00 p.m. CT on Friday, while the Huskies face Sioux Falls at 1:00 p.m. CT on Sunday.
The Huskies are coming off a 1-0-1 performance last weekend, winning 2-0 over Winona State on Friday (Sept. 16) before tying Upper Iowa, 1-1, on Sunday (Sept. 18). In SCSU's win over Winona State, head coach Gretta Arvesen became the all-time winningest coach in program history, as her mark of 59-58-20 (2014-present) surpassed Becky Heiberger-McCabe's mark of 58-44-13 (2008-13).
Sophomore forward Megan Kirby (Navarre, Fla.) has led the offensive attack for the Huskies so far this season, leading the way with three goals scored. She scored both of SCSU's goals in the win over Winona State, her first multi-goal game of her career, and currently ranks third in the NSIC with three goals.
Both of the Huskies opponents this weekend are seeking their first victories of the season, as Southwest Minnesota State has dropped conference matches to Upper Iowa, Minot State and Mary, while Sioux Falls has dropped conference matches to Upper Iowa and Mary.
