THIS WEEK IN THE WCHA

All eight WCHA teams will face off against a conference competitor as No. 4 Minnesota will be on the road against No. 2 Ohio State. No. 7/8 Minnesota-Duluth will be at home against unranked Bemidji State. No. 1 Wisconsin is on the road against (RV) St. Thomas.
CONFERENCE LEADER
Klára Hymlárová is coming off a WCHA Forward of the Week Award after an incredible weekend against No. 13 Northeastern, No. 4 Minnesota, and Sacred Heart. The Huskies went 2-1-0 while winning the Ice Breaker Championship, going 2-0-0 in Connecticut. Hymlárová led the league in goals (4), faceoff wins (29), and powerplay goals (2). The fifth-year center was named Most Outstanding Player at the 2023 Ice Breaker, leading the Huskies to the title and registering a natural hat trick in the Championship Game.
THE MATCHUP
The Huskies and the Mavericks is a conference rivalry going back to 1998. Last season, the two teams saw each other four times where they both went 2-2-0, each winning the series at home. Looking at the last ten games between the Huskies and the Mavericks, it is an even draw at five wins and 5 losses a piece.
